Indigenous Carving classes at Langara integrate Coast Salish teachings for safe and effective tool use and the development of sculptural forms with hand tools. Our Carving courses offer students foundational wood carving skills that support the development of their work in other areas of their artistic practice while also bringing conversations about ancient cultural artistic forms and traditions into the classroom in an authentic way.
