Azadeh Mehryar

Azadeh Mehryar is an Iranian artist living on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples. Her work investigates the intersection of modern art and traditional Persian art to reflect her cultural heritage through a contemporary lens. Azadeh’s practice focuses on hand-built ceramics and engages in both material and process-based experimentation. She holds a BS in Software Engineering and switched to art by registering at Langara college in 2018. She transferred to Emily Carr in 2020.
