Seraphine (Kwii Gee Iiwans) grew up in Squamish Valley and moved to Vancouver to continue her journey of learning. She's from the Squamish and Haida nations and is deeply tied to her Indigenous communities. Her art practice focuses heavily on Catholic ideologies and aesthetics as a way of exploring her namesake and the impacts of Christianity on her Indigenous identity and world view. Seraphine is a multidisciplinary artist, this semester she focused on printmaking and digital media.
